2020: a park season like no other

While some of our plans are on hold, here's what we've been working on for the future, plus an update from park staff about their operating season.

Artist in Residence program

Image: Old Woman Lake, 2014, watercolour by Adam Martin (used with permission) We're exploring the development of an Artist in Residence program. It would bring a visual artist to the park to create art inspired by the landscape. We imagine an outreach component to engage park visitors. We hope to work with a range of visual artists, including photographers. If any members would like to help with the development of this program please contact Sarah.

Check out our projects page for more about the work we do in LSPP.

LSPP's 2020 Season Update from Adam Martin, Backcountry Leader and liaison between LSPP and the Friends The 2020 operating season has wrapped up at Lake Superior Provincial Park, and what a season it was! It started with uncertainty, but soon turned into one of our busiest summers to date as folks began craving new outdoor adventure closer to home. Our staff did a truly amazing job in adapting to new procedures and we sincerely thank them for all of their efforts. We’d like to thank the Friends of Lake Superior Park, their board of directors, and members — past, present and future — for their relentless passion for our gem of a park. We feel so very lucky to have such a dedicated group of people devoting their time, money, and support to LSPP and look forward to working with everyone on exciting new projects. Be well and hope to see you in 2021!
